Angus Arts was founded in 2000 with a commitment to encouraging creativity in everyone through performances, workshops,and active participation in the arts. Since then many people of all ages have come together to enjoy numerous memorable and inspiring events and activities.
Past events include;
- Saturday morning Workshops exploring the arts in so many innovative and different ways.
- Sunday all day Art Classes.
- Sunday Creative Dance sessions with dance artist Rachel Smith.
- West African drumming with Steve Haden
- Annually, a week of activities at African Drum Village, Glenisla.
- Since 2003 annual Easter Puppet Festival of shows and workshops.
- Outdoor adventures 'Seekers of the Tower' The Burn 2001, 'Search for the Wonderplant' House of Dun 2002 and 'Dragon Quest' The Beach 2004.
- Scottish Dance Theatre, Brechin City Hall - demonstration and workshops 2004.
- Cuban Festival, Inglis Hall, Edzell, with Rumba Caliente and Caledonian Languages 2004.
- Two days with Michael Morpurgo Children's Laureate 2004
- Bagel Day with Moishes Bagel, Fettercairn Hall 2005.
- 'A Clean Sweep' from Plutot la Vie 2005.
- 'Under the Carpet' Waggish Radish 2005.
- Hebrides Ensemble, Fettercairn Hall 2005.
- 'Tree Day' in our indoor forest with 'Singing Ringing Tree' from Folding Theatre and 'The Man who Planted Trees' from Puppet State 2006.
- Hebrides Ensemble and Scottish Dance Theatre 2006.
- Angus Arts on the Road has taken workshops to Angus Carers, Perth and Kinross Festival, Brechin Arts Festival, Perth Library, The Meffan, Forfar, The Glenesk Retreat, many Primary Schools, Angus College, Craigmillar Community Arts.
- Sept 2008 Freedom in Education Conference organised by Schoolhouse, Arbroath. Two days of family activities.
